Events that happen every month or several times a year 

Bounce U - Kennesaw, GA -  BounceU offers every Wed. Homeschool special pricing for our open bounce sessions from 1-4 for only $5 per child.  We have a 13,000 sq.ft. of bouncing fun!  Large inflatable's that everyone can  enjoy! 

Cochran Mill Nature Center - Palmetto GA - CMNC hosts Homeschool Day each month, a group program designed for hands-on learning about nature.  Homeschool classes are listed by month on our events calendar  page.  Click on the class you'd like to attend for complete details. Programs range from 60-90 minutes and are open to Kindergarten through 12th grades students. Some classes may be recommended for certain age groups although all grades are welcome to attend. $6 per student (K-12th grades) and $3 per adult (over 18). 

Dunwoody Nature Center - Tuesdays 11am - 12:30pm - Different grades on different Tuesdays.  Cost:  $10 for members, $15 for non-members . Homeschool science classes will explore science and nature through age-appropriate games, crafts, stories, and other seasonal experiments and activities.  Pre-Registration is required.

Hot Wheels Skate Center - Woodstock Ga - Homeschool Skate EVERY OTHER Monday starting August 19th.  2:00 PM - 4:00 PM  - $5.00 includes admission and skate rental 

Escalade Rockwall Climbing in Kennesaw - Homeschool days on 3rd Thursday of the month from 12:00 - 2:00 PM   - Cost is $8 and includes guide service and equipment rental. Children 4 and under pay $6 for entry into the gym and use of the kids play area. Pizza offered at 1:00p.m. for only $1.00 per slice! 

Ice Forum - Kennesaw, GA -   Please note on website the dates for home school sessions this year.  Most months will have the second Friday and third Tuesday of the month as home school days.  (The exception is February)  Admission and skate rental is $6.00 for home schoolers and their family.

Masterpiece Mixers Paint and Party Studio - Suwanee and Braselton, Ga - Once a month homeschool days. Schedule varies. . Price is $12.00. You can register as an individual or with a group 

Rancho Alegre Farm  - Dacula, GA - Cost: $7 per child (with a minimum of 10 paying children); Adults are $4.   Must make Reservations.Field trips for Homeschooling groups can be scheduled for Tuesday to Friday at 10am, 12pm, and 4:30pm. Duration: Approx. 1 ½ hours.

SkyZone - Roswell and Kennesaw locations - Imagine a seemingly endless sea of trampolines, all connected to form one massive trampoline surface. Now, imagine that surface enclosed with angled trampolines that allow you to literally bounce off the walls! These patented, all-trampoline, walled playing courts are the foundation of Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park.
  • Roswell - Information hard to fine on website but if you go to buy tickets online and choose a Friday and then 12:00 PM, you can see an option to buy a ticket for Homeschool Jump for 120 minutes for $11.00 and 60 minutes for $7.00.  You can play around with the times after 12:00 PM to see other options. 
  • Kennesaw - HOME SCHOOL DAY (ANY AGE HOME SCHOOL) Every Thursday 11:30-2:30. Save $5.00 off normal jump time rate (Minimum 1 hour jump).  Use the "Contact us" option if you have a large group requiring a reservations

Booth Western Art Museum - Cartersville, GA -  FREE to the public on the 1st Thursday of the month from 4 PM -8 PM and for Bank of America customers, it is free the first Saturday and Sunday of the month. See website for details. See October for 1st homeschool day. 

Imagine It! Children's Museum -  
FREE on the second Tuesday of the month starting at 1:00 PM. The free tickets are issued on a first come first served basis as Museum capacity permits. 

Old McDermott's Farm - Carrollton, GA -  Grab your homeschool group and schedule a group tour!  - The Fall Harvest Tour is available September 26th through November 2nd. Tours can be scheduled for 9 to 10:30. 10:30 to 12, and 12 to 1:30. The picnic area and corn box will be available immediately following the tour for your group to use. You will have 30-40 minutes to use these areas before you depart.The admission for field trips is $7 per student. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are also $7 per person. Siblings age two and under are free. 

Southeastern Railway Museum - Duluth, GA -   See website for programs that are available as field trips at the museum, or as outreach programs at your school. They are available for public and private schools and preschools as well as for homeschool groups, moms groups, and scout groups. All programs include a hands-on experience with artifacts. Programs that are held at the museum generally* include a train ride and program-specific tour. Programs are $7 per student, Title 1 schools please call for pricing. If you have any questions or would like to book a program please contact the museum's Education Coordinator, Beth Kovach, at 770-495-0253 extension 2, or education@southeasternrailwaymuseum.org.  Will update if any "homeschool" days become available. 
Tellus Museum  - Cartersville, GA -  FREE to Bank of America customers on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month.

Center for Puppetry Arts Home Educator Days
The Center offers Home Educators $10.50 all-inclusive tickets to homeschools (regular price $16.50) on select dates. Includes Performance, Create-A-Puppet Workshop, and Museum admission!  *Limit 9 per family. Subject to availability. Not valid on previously purchased tickets or with any other offer. CNN Studio Tours - Homeschool Day - In 2013 they had a homeschool day on MLK Day - Adult $13, Student $12, Child $10 There are also specials rates for groups over 20.  Will let you know if I hear anything for 2014

Six Flags Read to Succeed for Homeschoolers - http://static.sixflags.com/readtosucceed/RTS-Homeschool-FAQ.pdf   - DEADLINE to register and record reading hours is March 1st by 5 PM. You then have to mail your log by March 8th.  Free ticket for homeschoolers - K - 6th grader - and the homeschool teacher!

appreciation for math.  Join us for a program that uses the museum’s themes and exhibits as the starting point for fun math and technology activities.


Kennesaw State University - The Museum of History & Holocaust Education  - Wednesday 
April 23, 2014 -Children in the Holocaust  -  FREE  Experience special guest speakers, hands-on activities, docent-led tours, and age-appropriate  films. Homeschool Days are suitable for 4th grade and up; please RSVP to rharker@kennesaw.edu.

Georgia Renaissance Festival - Student Day - Tuesday April 29, 2014  - Info from 2013: Cost is $9.50 per student and $10 for chaperones. Bus drivers are free. Does that count homeschool bus drivers? :)   Interactive workshops are provided and you can view list on website. Register online.

Southern Museum - Kennesaw - Tuesday May 6th -  Register by April 29, 2014   - Ages 7-14  - Admission is reduced to $5/person. 3 and under are admitted freer -Reservations are required, one week prior to the Homeschool Day.  Located at 2829 Cherokee Street Kennesaw, GA 30144 (770) 427-2117 - During the summer of 1864, Union and Confederate forces fought a pivotal series of battles known as the Atlanta Campaign.  Learn about the battles, the lives of soldiers, and the role of Kennesaw during the Campaign through hands-on activities and an exploration of the museum, including the new temporary exhibit, “1864.”

Six Flags - Homeschool Day - Usually 2nd or 3rd Friday in May  - ($28.00) Package includes an *Admission Ticket*, *All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Style Meal* (includes Sub Sandwiches, Potato Chips, Apple, Cookies, and Coca-Cola Beverages), and a Summer *Return Ticket*  The ($20) Package includes *Admission only*. These are last year prices (May 2013).

The Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca Cola Educator Open House September 7,2013 from 8 a.m. –12 p.m. FREE -  FREE for the educator and one guest. Homeschool educators bring a copy of their declaration of intent.

Zoo Atlanta-  Wed September 11, 2013 - 1:00-3:00 PM- Homeschool Academy - Members: $16 per student per class; Non-Members: $20 per student per class - See website for details on topics. Vary with age groups. One parent is admitted free with registered student

 - Noon – 3 pm - Myths, Magic, and Mummified Fish - Fee: $8 per visitor. Age 5 and younger are free.Homeschool students and parents are invited to attend Myths, Magic, and Mummified Fish - . Tour the Egyptian galleries with Museum docents, exploring mummies and coffins from several periods of Egyptian history, animal mummies, the tools and objects used in the mummification process, and images of the mummiform god of the Underworld, Osiris. View a video on the year-long process of conserving the Old Kingdom mummy, the oldest Egyptian mummy in North America, as well as Reading Rainbow’s Mummies Made in Egypt.  Students will watch a demonstration and take home instructions on how to mummify a fish, just as the Egyptians did!

High Museum of Art - Friday, September 20, 2013 - Girl with a Pearl Earring -  No advance reservations are required for admission on these days. Homeschool families must present verification of homeschool/non-traditional school status when purchasing tickets.

Chattahoochee Nature Center -   Monday  September 23 - Insects - Select Mondays September – May  - 11:30pm- 12:30pm - Included with general admission. CNC members free. All ages- No registration required - Join us for exciting science and nature programsplanned just for homeschooling students. A perfect addition to your ecology, biology and geology curriculum, Homeschool Mondays are a great way to get hands-on science and nature lessons, receive help on projects and research and network with other homeschooling families. Afterwards, head to the Nature Exchange to take part in the science experiment of the month!


Stone Mountain Park -   September 27, 2013 Time:  10:30am - 5:00pm - Bring your home school students to Stone Mountain Park, the perfect classroom for a full day of ,educational opportunities and fun times!  See website for schedule. Special Home School Day Adventure Pass Rate of $17.00 (per person plus tax) Includes unlimited use of all open Stone Mountain Park attractions for the entire day (excluding Ride the Ducks).

Smithsonian Museum Day -
Saturday September 28, 2013 - Free admission to various museums around the country. The ones closest to Metro Atlanta are Archibald Smith Plantation House (Roswell), Barrington Hall (Roswell) Autry Nature Center (Johns Creek), Booth Western Art Musuem (Cartersville), Bulloch Hall (Roswell), Center for Puppetry Arts (Atlanta), Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, Marietta Museum of History, Hudgens Center for the Arts (Duluth) and more...  REGISTER and you will receive a ticket for one plus a guest.

Also available.. not a homeschool day but on the 1st Tuesday of the month, you can get in for free starting at 1 PM. I have a friend say that it is not crowded during the school year

Booth Western Art Museum - Cartersville, GA - Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 9:00 am – 1:00 pm  - $5 for students, $3 for adults - Passport to the West  - This program is appropriate for Grades 2-12 0 Bring your students to the Booth Museum for an unforgettable Western experience. History comes alive for students with demonstrations of pottery making, blacksmithing, chair caning, spinning, beading, chuck wagon cooking, flint knapping, and life at a trading post. Living history performers, Jim Sawgrass, and Little Big Mountain will present programs on Native American culture for students.

Autry Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center -  Thursdays in 2013- Feb 7, March 14, April 4, May 9 - 11:00am - 1:30pm  For ages 6-12, Parents are not required to attend (but are welcome to stay and enjoy the preserve). $10 for members, $12 for non-members. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Please register at least 24 hours in advance of class. Call our office if interested in late registration to confirm availability. **website indicates no homeschool programs at this time.
